Background
Jane Pellicciotto founded Allegro Design in 1996 in the DC area and brings almost 20 years of experience to her client’s projects. Prior to starting Allegro Design, she was a designer at the University of Maryland, art director at an association and a senior designer at small design firm in DC. In 2001, Jane and Allegro Design relocated to Portland, Oregon in search of nature. As a former board member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA DC chapter), she adheres to the organization's ethics and business standards.

Capabilities
Her attention to detail, ability to manage complex projects and deliver creative solutions on tight budgets has served her clients well. She believes that good design is equal parts visually appealing, functional and strategically targeted. These three elements should be in good balance to communicate the client’s message. And a love of language helps Jane tie visuals and content together in a meaningful way.

By keeping Allegro Design small, clients benefit by getting personal attention on every project, and low overhead means costs are competitive with similarly skilled larger firms. But Jane maintains relationships with a variety of experts in other fields, ready to pull in an able body (and mind) as needed.

Community Involvement
Over the years, Jane has stayed involved in the community through volunteer work, pro bono, teaching design, and engaging in professional and civic organizations. Some include: The National Building Museum, Washington Literacy Council, American Institute of Graphic Arts (board of directors), GreenHOME/Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Trees, Growing Gardens, Portland Farmer’s Market and City Club of Portland (member).

These affiliations keep ideas fresh and perspectives different — all of which benefit Allegro Design’s clients.
