Allegro Design was asked to create an online version of FWS's
quarterly print magazine. Various strategies
were employed to keep content fresh since each issue last three
months — such as online-only
news items, photos of the week and highlighting a different main
feature.
Work included:
> information architecture: content organization, site plan,
labels
> overall strategy
> visual design/user interface
> wire frames
> site documentation: guidelines for styles and interactivity

In order to include all feature story photos used in the print
magazine — but avoiding lots of vertical scrolling — thumbnail
photos are condensed into a sidebar column. Pop-up boxes show larger
images, captions and photographer credits. Layout is then easier
for the web technicians.
